Exploring a Limited Palette In this watercolor class, we’ll slow down and play with colour, water, and intuition. Using a limited palette, we’ll begin with gentle colour-mixing and technique practice, getting to know how a small set of colours can create surprising depth, mood, and variation. From there, you’ll use the same colours to create a grid of abstract landscapes. Each one a small experiment in mark-making, movement, and atmosphere. Rather than working toward a single “finished” image, the focus is on exploration and curiosity. No reference photos, no pressure to replicate anything, and no right or wrong outcome. This class is about loosening up, trusting the process, and discovering what emerges when you give yourself permission to experiment. Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike who want to explore watercolor in a playful, low-pressure way.
